Why running? Why together?

Research consistently shows that aerobic exercise and social connection both play a meaningful role in mental health.

This group brings those together in a simple, practical way:
a weekly run to support routine, movement, and connection.

It’s not therapy, just another evidence-informed way to feel a little better, one week at a time.

How movement supports mental health

Regular physical activity, especially cardio like running, has been shown to support mental health in several meaningful ways:

Improved mood & reduced anxiety

Exercise is linked to lower symptoms of anxiety and depression, both in the short term and over time. Many people notice a shift in mood even after a single run.

Better focus & mental clarity

Cardio-based movement supports attention, concentration, and cognitive flexibility. It can help you feel more clear-headed and able to engage with your day.

Stress regulation

Running can help regulate the nervous system, making it easier to shift out of high-stress states and return to a more balanced baseline.

Routine & momentum

Showing up consistently, even once per week, can help build structure and carry momentum into other areas of life.

Confidence & follow-through

Exercise creates regular opportunities to set small goals and follow through, helping build a sense of self-trust over time.

The added impact of doing it together

Group-based activity can reduce isolation, increase accountability, and make it easier to stay consistent. Sometimes, simply showing up alongside others is what makes the difference.

**Important disclaimer: This is not a therapy or counselling group.**

While this group is informed by mental health knowledge and led by trained professionals, it’s important to be clear:

There is no clinical treatment, assessment, or expectation to share anything personal. Instead, it’s a structured, low-pressure environment to help you get outside, move, build healthy habits and be around others in a consistent and supportive way.
