meet
Nick Gomez
When Nick isn’t in his counselling chair, you can find him getting lost in a good video game, fantasy novel, or out spending time with friends playing tennis and going for a run. Nick emphasizes the importance of keeping a healthy balance between mental, physical, and social activities.

get to know me
Nick is a practicum student as a part of his Master of Counselling Psychology program from Adler University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia. As a second-generation Latinx man, Nick recognizes the importance of identity and the nuances that intersectionality creates in navigating everyday life. He brings this experience to his current work as well as previous work with teens and young adults living with substance use, mental and behavioural disorders, and neurodivergence.
Using Existential theory as a foundation, Nick pulls from various modalities like Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and more to meet the needs of each individual using a trauma-informed and holistic approach. He wants to meet you wherever you are in your healing journey and tailor a therapeutic experience specific to your needs and wants in collaboration with you.
Nick believes the heart of therapeutic change lies in the therapeutic relationship, and so building a connection together comes before anything else. By understanding one another, more genuine and powerful work can be done in the context of a safe and supportive relationship. Together, Nick wants to explore what matters to each client and what can be done to help achieve a life that is worthwhile for you.
