Marleau Marleau
When Marleau is not researching and writing for school, she spends a few days a week behind-the-chair as a hairstylist—a career she’s loved for nearly 30 years. She’s a former theatre practitioner, has a visual art practice (abstract painting and drawing), loves whipping up a feast for friends, and taking her senior pooch on relaxed walks around her neighbourhood.

Marleau believes therapy begins with a real conversation: sometimes playful, often surprising, and always rooted in who you really are. Her focus is relational which means her practice is collaborative and actively engaging. Rather than taking a backseat, she listens closely to what is said and what is left unsaid to ask direct, considerate questions. Her goal is to gently challenge you to move past automatic responses, to tease out and develop the self-awareness needed to spark clarity, resolve, and your desired change.
Marleau welcomes people of all identities and relationship structures. She specializes in guiding people through diverse relational dynamics, with a strong focus on couples, friendship ruptures, and professional collaborations. Above all, Marleau supports clients interested in understanding and strengthening their relationship with themselves.
Expect creative exploration and emotional attunement. Marleau is here to hold you accountable with warmth, honesty, and a nudge or a laugh where needed. As a counsellor-in-training, she draws from several integrated theories, including: Acceptance and Commitment, Attachment-based, Relational-Life, Gottman Couples, Meisner, Emotion-Focused, Solution-focused, Mindfulness, and Somatic-based therapies. Marleau offers low cost and sliding scale therapy and is available virtually or in-person.
